Pumacas Engineering Ltd are a well-established manufacturing company based in Tyseley Birmingham.

We are looking to offset our energy costs and carbon emissions by installing solar panels. The building the panels are to be installed upon is a 10m high-bay modern warehouse building, with a E-W facing trapezoidal roof of low pitch.

 

Specification

101kWp turnkey system, supplied and installed.

 

Materials

Solar Panels:

  • Minimum module efficiency 19%, with minimum efficiency in year 25 of 80%
  • Minimum 12-year product warranty
  • Minimum 25-year performance warranty
  • Labour warranty, if available.

Panel Fixings:

  • High quality fixing solution using stainless fixings and waterproof barrier
  • Fixing method to be warranted by manufacturer.

Inverters:

  • High quality solution with minimum efficiency of 98%.
  • Minimum of 10 years warranty.

 

Labour/Installation

 

  • Quotation should be verified by whatever onsite/offsite investigation the installer deems necessary before submission. The project is to be a fixed price.
  • Installation must be warranted by the installer; weight will be given to longer warranties.
  • The ability to speak with former clients of the preferred installer is desired before final approval of any quotation and selection. Please provide referees of similar projects.
  • Installer to consult build specifications and determine whether full structural survey is required, regards whether the roof is capable of taking the additional loading from the solar panel scheme.
  • Solution to take into account skylights and maintaining natural light.
  • Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certificate to be provided upon completion
  • All liaising with Grid provider to be undertaken by installer.
  • All ancillary items (including any access equipment, scaffolding, skip/waste removal, etc) to be provided by the installer and included within the quotation price.
  • No disruption to the business of operator will be allowed during installation.

 

Quote to be broken down into Material and Labour costs – further detail may be requested.

Indicative timescale for works to be included in quotation.

The cost and scope of ongoing maintenance plans offered by the installer should also be included in the quotation, where offered.

Payment terms to be outlined in the quotation.
